Headcanon that by 8th year, Harry and Ron were the kind of friends that constantly get asked if they’re dating. Like, “I saved the freaking wizarding world! If I want to lie on my best friend’s lap, I will.” They’re always walking with their arms linked or one slung over the other’s shoulders, and they’re constantly sharing inside jokes. Again and again, Ron has to insist, “No, he’s dating my sister. Really, he is!” Hermione and Ginny think it’s hilarious. “I hope us girlfriends will be invited to your wedding, at least.” McGonagall can’t help but smile when she sees them at it, because it reminds her so strongly of James and Sirius.
