All these local news stations are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, a pro-Trump, Far-right company that has been forcing every station it acquires to read these scripts as “must-runs.” Their purpose is to push right-wing conservative propaganda without the explicitness of running an obvious commercial.
These are just one of the “must-run” segments they make their stations do, another is to force each of these stations to have a “Terrorism Watch Desk” which has nothing to do with reporting on terrorism but rather report on the activities on Muslims in general, even as innocuous as a group of them going to a Mosque service.

The only thing standing in the way of them buying Tribune Media (owns 39 tv stations, also owns WGN America (a basic cable channel) is thr Justice Department right now. They’re working on a deal with then to get it.

“It’s just a script whats the problem lol” the problem is that Fox, CNN, CBS, and all the other channels repped here, despite claiming to be different companies with different viewpoints, all had the exact same script, word for word, to push the exact same viewpoint that smaller, independent news outlets are Fake News and “A Threat To Our Democracy.”
The fact that they have scripts isn’t the problem. The problem is they all, each and every one, have the exact same script down to the letter and in some cases the fucking inflection, which basically reads “small news stations are untrustworthy and a Threat to your Way Of Life, only trust Us, We Are Verified.”
SESTA passed Congress a week ago. It still hasn’t been signed into law, yet in the past week all of the following have already happened:
* Reddit banned most subreddits dedicated to sales. In addition to preventing sex workers from promoting their content, this also banned subreddits dedicated to guns, drugs, and even homebrewing beer.
* Craigslist completely removed their personals section. In addition to preventing sex workers from having a platform to screen potential clients, this means that there is no more meeting people for dating or casual sex via Craigslist. The much-loved “Missed Connections” board was also briefly taken down, before being migrated elsewhere.
* Google Drive banned the sharing of porn, shutting down one of the easiest outlets for performers to send direct-sales and to share edits of content with each other. Many performers lost their entire life’s work as Google has banned performers from saving their own content once it gets flagged.
* Consensual Sex Work advertising sites CityVibe and Nightshift have shut down completely.
* Microsoft has banned all “inappropriate” or “offensive” content from its platforms. They claim they reserve the right to view everyone’s Skype calls to determine whether any violations occur, which is a huge privacy violation. In addition to preventing cam performers from doing private shows and full service sex workers from screening clients, this also prevents long distance couples from being intimate with each other over camera. These rules also apply to XBox and Office, so one can conceivably be banned for writing erotica on Microsoft Word.
SESTA isn’t even law yet and it has already destroyed internet freedom. This bill impacts everyone and will completely change how humans are “allowed” to interact with each other. Yet because the bill is explicitly designed to target sex workers, none of the people who would otherwise be up in arms are saying anything. The hatred of sex workers will destroy us all unless we all stand up and fight.
I’m pissed, pissed, at finding out this information. I even went to the journal site and read the article to make sure there wasn’t a spin. 47% of black kids and 67% of Puerto Rican children?! Those numbers are astronomical and point to a largely increased amount of morbidity (and mortality in some cases) in regards to asthma related complications in patients. Like all this proves is that white researchers only research white people despite how much it can help them and everyone else to diversify their subject pools. This is the community I am joining. The medical community has long been using racist sexist classist data to treat our patients and slowly but surely it is coming to light that we have been hurting our patients because of it. More research needs to be done immediately to figure out if there are better drugs (besides short acting beta 2 agonists) that can help minorities with asthma.
*Horrified alien voice* So you’re telling me that you stick this blood-filled sack of skin and nerves inside of a moist, dripping flesh cavern, then millions of tiny white swimming worms come gushing out of the blood-filled sack and into that cavern, where they seek out this relatively giant “egg” and one of them invades and infects the egg… then the infected egg attaches itself to one of your internal organs, grows inside of you, and for nine entire months this parasite grows inside your body, eating your blood and squishing your organs, until it forces itself out of the same small opening the blood-filled sack went into, causing tearing, bleeding, pain, and screaming, there’s feces, piss, and effluvia EVERYWHERE, and even then you have to physically cut the parasite off of the host? And you could DIE doing all this? Then, the parasite is born helpless and is dependent on you for at least 16 MORE YEARS??? And this is how you REPRODUCE??!??! That’s like something out of a horror movie! On my planet, we just grow these buds that fall off, they go off and do their own thing, and don’t come back until they’re old enough to learn new things from us. Man, you humans are terrifying monstrosities!
What, there’s MORE? Wait, you mean that every month, the ones with the flesh caverns get punished by their bodies for not becoming infected with a parasite, by LOSING PARTS OF THEIR INTERNAL ORGANS, AND BLEEDING COPIOUSLY??? And they don’t DIE??? And this goes on every month for as long as FORTY YEARS??? Why aren’t you worshiping them as LIVING DEITIES??? Okay. This seems pretty insane if you don’t know what the existing state of terminally ill patients’ options is. So let’s go over that.
Terminally ill patients can sign up to be part of pre FDA approval trials for treatments which might potentially cure them. As these treatments are experimental, untested, not guaranteed to get results, and intended to provide profit to the medical provider in the long run, patients cannot be charged for these experimental treatments. As it should be. It’d be pretty unethical to get people to pay you to be your guinea pig for treatments which may not even help them.
This “right to try” law changes that. It makes it legal for terminally ill patients to be charged for experimental treatments. Furthermore, it removes FDA testing restrictions from the process. Currently a company which tries an ‘experimental’ treatment they know won’t work will get the hammer dropped on them by the FDA. But under this new process, medical providers would be legally allowed to provide ‘treatments’ they know won’t work, without oversight. This would legalize medical predation on terminally ill patients.
Labeling this bill ‘right to try’ makes it seem like terminally ill patients aren’t allowed to seek out experimental treatments right now. But they are! All this bill does is make a terminally ill patients more financially burdened and more vulnerable to predation.
That’s why the Democrats blocked it.
