THAT PART.

So y’all need a reminder on what the word “agenda” is?

Putting even more police officers in schools will only feed the school-to-prison pipeline. And needlessly endanger, arrest and criminalize innocent black and brown students, destroy their futures in the process, and in essence, help to maintain a permanent underclass.

“Today it is perfectly legal to discriminate against criminals in nearly all the ways in which it was once legal to discriminate against African Americans. Once you’re labeled a felon, the old forms of discrimination – employment discrimination, housing discrimination, denial of the right to vote, exclusion from jury service – are suddenly legal.“Michelle Alexander

Make no mistake: The true agenda here is notschool safety.” The real goals are to, 1. Keep the for-profit, prison industrial complex supplied with cheap prison laborers, and, 2. Disenfranchise the next generation of black and non-white voters, who will face additional hurdles to finding employment, rental housing, home loans, student loans, public food assistance, and most importantly, voting — all because they will now have a ~criminal~ record for minor school infractions.

Wonder how fast we could crowdfund it.

Didn’t they arrest him?

oh man. he dead…

His name is Edward Crawford.

For real tho. He was hands down murdered by the police. A lot of notable figures from Ferguson were found dead in the same manner and police labeled them all suicides which ,as we all know, is complete and utter bullshit.

If we could get statues of anyone it really is Edward Crawford. If I can get in contact with a sculptor or some shit with permission from Crawford’s family I will set up the Fund Page in a heart beat.

Omg he died!?!

Like they said, Edward died in a suspicious manner similar to several other notable protestors officially ruled a suicide and here’s some links:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/05/us/ferguson-iconic-photo-death-trnd/index.html

The podcast Criminal did a really great interview with him right before his death in which he talked about his harassment by the police http://thisiscriminal.com/episode-32-it-looked-like-fire-12-11-2015/

Oh my god that’s heartbreaking, I don’t think I even heard about his death. Or if I did it was drowned out by all the other murders by the police. God this is heartbreaking. That photo of him made me cry when I first saw it, it was so moving. Rest In Power, Edward Crawford.

You know acting like this is representative of the general hurdles that everyday women have facing sexual harassment is really fucking stupid.

Except, you know, women keep getting violently assaulted or murdered for saying “no” to men:

So yeah. Women have this in the back of their minds when sexually harassed or approached by a creep. That any man who they reject could turn violent and kill them. So maybe its time to have a conversation about misogyny and the entitlement men have toward women.

How anyone can look at an incident of sexual harassment in school culminating in violent retribution and not see an everyday danger in something that literally happens every day is just mind-blowing.

Because we can’t admit women have legitimate reasons to be wary of men because that’s mean and hurts men’s feelings.

there’s a thread or two on twitter of women being killed for rejecting men… when the woman first said she would start it, men called her all kinds of a liar. and then as she added to it every day, they started the name-calling, threats, etc.

i say all this to say i do not believe for one second that men don’t know this is a real problem. they just don’t want us discussing it and compiling the information.

it’s just like how the NRA keeps pushing the “lone wolf” and “isolated incident” narrative. it’s just like how the cops keep pushing “isolated incident”. They know it’s a lie.

Civil rights violations in the US today doesn’t look like the bad cops on TV, it more often looks like the good cops on TV

How many times in your favorote cop show have they kicked in a door and searched a home without a warrant?

How many times in your favorite cop show have they questioned a suspect without their lawyer present and after the suspect has clearly stated they don’t want to talk?

Special question to fans of Criminal Minds: how many times have the BAU purposefully taunted the unsub in a standoff to the point that they become agressive and the agents then shoot the unsub?

By the way, to be clear on the door kicking thing, I am very specifically talking about the following line I’ve seen countless times:

”Hey, did you hear screams/smell drugs inside?”

And like it’s always shown as a flimsy excuse, yet, still the right and good thing to do

The one where they make the suspect talk without a lawyer is so common it’s actually ridiculous.

Or the one where they get mad at a perp for having a shitty attitude/mocking them and end up losing their temper and using unnecessary force is always framed like the police had no other choice. Because the perp insulted their wife or dead colleague so obviously they deserve some brutality

also when the cops maybe don’t do anything wrong, but the show frames it as “if only we could violate human rights a LITTLE, then we could solve the case!” or even that the law is preventing them from doing their job. e.g. the stodgy old judge won’t give them a search warrant, the arrogant psychiatrist won’t hand over their patient’s information, the team has to do things by the book this time(!) because the FBI/internal affairs/the media are watching them.

the number of times the police stalk someone because they’re “sure” they’re the culprit, even when they have no evidence and their captain tells them not to, but it’s justified in the end because they wee right of course, looking at you SVU.

wtf

“You can’t deprogram them.”

So just, allow a sober person to keep the dog?

This is the police trying to make people panic about legalization.

IF YOU LEGALIZE THESE DRUGS WE’LL KILL THIS DOG is totally a normal and cool thing that professionals interested in protecting the people say

holy fuck lol

noah fence, but I’d happily kill all dogs in police service if it means curbing white supremacist oppression and subjugation of black communities

Honestly lmao. Although I can totally see white moderates and right-libertatians going back to supporting criminalization if it saves some fucking dogs lives.

Also there’s rescuse that specialize in rehabilitating police dogs so they can exist in society. There is absolutely 0 reason to euthenize these dogs aside from using it as emotional manipulation.

The response to this shouldn’t be “well then we won’t do this so you won’t kill innocent dogs,” it should be, “I can’t believe you abused these dogs so badly to carry out your agenda that they can’t be regular dogs any more and care so little for them that you would euthenize them just to make a political point.”

26-year-old Jamarion Robinson’s grandmother Beverly Nixon said her grandson was bipolar and schizophrenic. Still got shot 76 (!!!) times. Would a white person get the same treatment?

The witness said he saw more than a dozen patrol cars at the complex where US Marshals killed Robinson on August 5, 2016. Why were there no behavioral specialist? Surely one of them would know how to interact with a bipolar schizophrenic better than the police.

I’m absolutely disgusted.

Here’s Jamarion’s mother’s GoFundMe in case anyone is willing to help.
