Democrats Get A Huge Win In Georgia As Federal Judge Orders Republicans To Protect Provisional Ballots

“A federal judge has ordered Georgia Republicans to protect all provisional ballots and allow voters to check and see if their vote was counted.

“A federal court in Atlanta on Monday issued an order requiring the state to take a number of steps to protect voters who had to cast provisional ballots because of registration problems. Among those steps: Georgia officials must establish a hotline and website for voters to check if their ballots were counted; conduct a thorough review of provisional ballots; and provide detailed information about every provisional ballot cast in Tuesday’s election.

“This is a big win for the voters, Democrats, and Stacey Abrams

“Brian Kemp and the Republican Party have been trying to begin the transition and take power in Georgia by attempting to shut down the election. The Abrams campaign has taken legal action to make sure that every vote is counted and with the Democratic candidate roughly 20,000 votes short of triggering an automatic runoff, any ruling that helps to gets all the votes counted is a big win for Democrats.

…"Republicans went as far as to not provide power cords for voting machines in Democratic areas. The GOP tried everything imaginable to deny the right to vote in Georgia and they still might lose.”

➣ Definitely BIG news for today (11/13) in the Georgia governor’s race!

Count all the votes. End GOP voter suppression. Call out Brian Kemp for his coordinating crimes and election tampering.

weird how I became a much more compassionate and accepting person when I realised that drug addiction is the symptom of a problem and not the problem in itself

you also start to realise just how much the War On Drugs was actually a war against the poor, against survivors, against trans people, against sex workers, against the mentally ill and the disabled, against PoC, against queers, against the homeless. how much of it was a government manufactured ploy to sell violence against the marginalized as violence against addiction, as if addiction was not a symptom of systemic abuse.

It’s true and you should say it.

Terry Crews came out and admitted he had been sexually assulted by someone in the film industry, and is now being blacklisted. I have been a fan of his since Idiocracy, and will continue to support all of his work.

So when you wonder why people don’t come forward with their assults, this is why.

Where are all the bitch men who ask about male sexual assault when the focus is on women but are dead silent when men are actually at the focus.

It’s almost as if Men’s Rights Activists don’t really care about men’s rights. Hmmm….

🤔

Yep….

This misses the really powerful piece of the story: Terry Crews was the one who chose not to do the movie. One of the producers told him, essentially, that he could either do the movie and be drop the sexual assault charges, or continue with the trial and have “troubles”. Terry dropped out because he felt standing against abusers was more important than his film career.

It’s bullshit that he was threatened in the first place, of course, but his response was ballsy. I admire him for it.

Reblog to support Terry Crews and men like him.

Summarized : Ana is a competitive dancer and a dance teacher. She was brutally assaulted on her way home. She was raped, stabbed and beaten. Ana suffered physical trauma as well as deep psychological trauma. She will be spending another month in a hospital, which leaves her with no income. Her friends and family are hoping Ana will be able to fullfil one of her biggest dream – to compete in a Latin dance competition abroad in Vienna in 6 months. She also needs to cover her medical bills, therapies and basic necessities.

Whole story of what happened to Ana :

This is Ana, my best friend of 12 years. She is an amazing competitive Latin and Ballroom dancer who won numerous competitions and awards. She is also one of the kindest, most caring people I know. When we first met, 12 years ago, I didn’t speak a word of English as I am a daughter of Czech immigrants who moved to New York a month before Ana and I met. She was the first person in this strange new place who made me feel like I belonged. Every day she would help me with homework and practise English with me. After 3 months of her constant help, I became nearly fluent.

A week ago, something unthinkable happened to Ana.

Yes please consider adopting a Greyhound, they are incredibly misunderstood pets! I was inspired to look into it when seeing them on stop 5 list of perfect apartment dogs! They are not energetic in the slightest, in fact they sleep about as much as cats do.

They’re big dumb soft babies who love cuddles and don’t smell at all and have the softest ears of any good boy

this is going to sound like such a Tumblr Story but I swear it’s happening as i type but like. outside my dorm window these guys were playing catch and they asked their friend to join him and i heard something muttered and then the other guy was like “you’re in college and you don’t know how to throw a football?” and like up in my room i was grimacing bc here come the Gay Sissy jokes obviously but instead – the kid goes “that’s okay! we’ll teach you.” and for the last hour they’ve been teaching him how to play like i’ve been listening and i guess you want to catch with your fingertips and use your elbows and bend your knees and think about your wrists and they’re …? actually being so kind and saying like ? some of the most constructive criticism i’ve ever heard surrounded by things like “oh! great job on that catch” “sweet throw! now you’re getting it!” and … my heart has never been so warm

i just wish this world like told boys… it’s okay to be like this. it’s okay to be supportive and friendly and frankly nurturing to other boys. i wish boys were allowed to be gentle and sweet and kind. boys….. be good, upturn the patriarchal standards and homophobia entrenched in this culture…. go teach a guy how to throw a ball.

UPDATE: the guy who’s teaching just said “BEAUTIFUL throw! sorry i didn’t catch it but that was PERFECT!!” and the guy who’s learning is like “?? i… i did it good??” and the first guy just says … in the most proud voice ever like .. “bro you did it GREAT” and tbh i’m gonna cry there’s too much Good here

…dare I say veterans being the public image of PTSD in america is deliberate propaganda to make us sympathize with soldiers who kill people overseas ? way more women have PTSD than men, and a lot have it from sexual and domestic violence, not combat.

1. I had C-PTSD for almost my entire life but never even considered it as a possible diagnosis, so I didn’t seek out help for it, because I’ve never been in combat. It took over 40 years, fanfic, some assholes in fandom gatekeeping me out, and my ex saying, “Uh, I really think you have PTSD,” before I finally got the diagnosis.

2. When I started looking into a service dog, not one organization would help me because I’m not a veteran. When I finally found an assistance dog school that would help, they charged $500 to enroll and $200/month.

This is worse. Looking at these you can tell they have no significant monetary value. They were confiscated as a fear tactic. Nothing more.

This picture breaks my heart everytime it appears in my dash. It’s a fear tactic, alright but—

The first one in the left corner: It’s a first communion rosary, and it’s not cheap.

The black one in the first line: That’s a widow rosary and it’s old.

The white one in the second line:  is a commemoration rosary. It has a miniature picture in the round part. I haven’t seen that since the 70′s.

In the third line, multicolor one: It’s an Anima mundi, I have only seen those in the hands of Rosary ministery’s old ladies. The oldest ones are from the 80′s after Juan Pablo II came to Mexico for the first time. It’s one of the old ones, I know because the crucifixes are different.

The third one on the fourth line: Red and gold. The style is old, the metal is dark, that’s a 50′s rosary, probably a quinceañera one (or it’s maybe older, from the 40′s when the brides carried red roses with their offerings).

The fifth one on the fourth line: It’s a quinceañera rosary with Ignatius’s tear. The style is old and in my part of Mexico is orphan girls who used it. At least it was when I was young.

The third one of the fifth line: the blue one with the anchor. That one I have only seen in Veracruz and it doesn’t look new.

The fifth one on the fifth line: That’s a 90′s wedding rosary. Black and white patterns were popular on that date.

The fourth one on the last line: That’s a first communion rosary from the 30′s. It’s delicate and most probably silver.

The rest wrench my heart too, the humble everyday rosaries with wooden beads and knots. Those are cheap and bear the wear and tear of their user handling. But those  I described are much more.

Those are mother’s rosaries.

Those are not just rosaries. Those are mementos, that’s the proof of their families stories. They are taking from them the only portable things they can carry to feel the connection to their families.

It’s not a fear tactic. Call it like by its name.

It’s dehumanization.
